# ScopeKit — Free Mini Scope Checklist Before you send your next freelance quote, replace “a few revisions” and “a basic website” with specifics both sides can check. ## The six-line scope 1. **Outcome:** What should the work help the client do? Describe the intended result without guaranteeing business performance. 2. **Outputs:** How many items, in which sizes or formats, delivered where? 3. **Inputs:** Who supplies copy, assets, access, and feedback, and by when? 4. **Review:** Who consolidates feedback, how many rounds are included, and what counts as a round? 5. **Boundaries:** Which adjacent requests are excluded? Name the likely misunderstandings. 6. **Completion:** What observable checks show the agreed outputs are delivered? ## Example: one-page website **Included:** One responsive page containing a hero, service overview, about section, and contact call to action; one design direction; two consolidated revision rounds; handoff of final source files. **Client supplies:** Final copy, licensed images, logo, and one feedback decision maker before work begins. **Excluded:** Additional pages, copywriting, e-commerce, custom integrations, hosting fees, and ongoing maintenance. **Completion checks:** The agreed sections appear, navigation and contact links work, and the page is reviewed at the agreed mobile and desktop viewport sizes. Search ranking and sales are not completion criteria. ## A friendly change-request message “Thanks for the idea. Adding [new request] goes beyond the current scope of [agreed output]. I can prepare a change request showing the extra deliverable, fee, and timing impact. Once we both acknowledge that change, I can schedule it. We can also keep the current scope and save this for a later phase.” Planning template only; not a legal contract or professional advice. Review and adapt before use. © 2026 ScopeKit.
